MI Data Analyst

Position – Full Time - Permanent

Salary   up to £28,000

Based Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire. Monday – Friday 07:30 – 16:00. 4/1 Hybrid working is available (4 days WFH, 1 day in the office), subject to training requirements, meetings and other business needs.

Reporting to Data Supervisor

We specialise in creating competitively priced, unique cruise packages targeted at both traditional cruisers and the “new to cruise” market.

Our Head Office is in the UK with a team of 150 and we are now trading in South Africa, Australia, (Brisbane & Perth), and New Zealand, a total of 250 employees.

Job Purpose

The role requires a rounded individual who is able to translate business needs into data output.

Typical Activities

  • This role requires someone who understands data and analytics. The role will be processing and managing data in primarily Excel although experience of Tableau and SQL would be an advantage. 
  • The main daily task is producing and maintaining a large multi-tab, multi-pivot Excel report which is key to the business’s operations and decision making.
  • Other daily activities include maintaining data about source codes, products and other “lookup” data in the SQL data warehouse.
  • Data about upcoming marketing campaigns (ad placement, cost, products, etc) is held in an in-house web-system called “Marketing Portal” and also needs to be maintained on a daily basis.
  • The role also encompasses adhoc reporting, as well as running and distributing a number of daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Skill Set Required

  • Extensive Excel knowledge required, including using Lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting
  • Good attention to detail
  • Being “data-curious” – an ability to spot data values outside the norm and a desire to investigate the anomalies.
  • A willingness to learn, understand tasks and ask questions when required
  • Reliable, determined and the ability to multi-task
  • Able to work well individually but also get on with others and be a team-player
  • Able to work extended hours on occasions when required


  • A working knowledge of the Tableau reporting tool (as a user)
  • Basic knowledge of SQL would be ideal
